There will be no rehearsal April 21. There is a baby shower at the Church and we have been "rained out."

Dave has a concert at school April 7th so there will be no rehearsal that evening either.

Looks like we will be playing four primary pieces on Saturday along with a
couple of chorales (warm-ups we can pass off as performance pieces).

We will start with chorale #1 and 4 followed by Honor Guard March, Kentucky
1800 and Tales of the Sea and Sail.

We will play The Lord of the Rings during their intermission.

Holiday Practice Schedule

Hi All,

With all the canceled practices the last few weeks you might be wondering if
the band is still meeting. Let's meet for practice this week (Thursday at
7:00) and then take a break for the rest of this month and get back together again
after the new year (January 6.)

If you cannot make this last rehearsal for the month please let me know.

November Schedule

At rehearsal last night, we discussed the schedule for November.

We will have rehearsal next week, November 11 -- Vetreran's Day
Dave Pallo cannot come to the rehearsal on November 18. He is looking for a substitute to fill in for him.
No Rehearsal on November 25 -- Thanksgiving

Who are We:
A volunteer organization playing concert band music for recreation and community service

Our Mission:

1. Provide an ensemble for Monroe area musicians who want to pursue lifelong participation in music performance as a hobby

2. Bring public performances of great concert band literature to the Monroe community.

Bylaws:

I. Name and Purpose
A. This Organization shall be known as the Monroe Community Concert Band (MCCB)
B. The purpose of this organization shall be:
1. Provide opportunity for musical enrichment through the rehearsal and performance of instrumental music within the framework of a full concert setting.
2. Provide an instrumental group in which music is challenging and appealing to the membership as well as the community.
II. Membership
A. Eligibility for membership:
1. Any person who has the technical ability and musicianship to play an instrument in a concert band setting.
2. Any qualified high school student provided said membership does not conflict with participation in school music opportunities or academic requirements.
B. Duties and Responsibilities of Members:
1. To maintain musical proficiency acceptable to the Music Director.
2. To attend all scheduled rehearsal and performances and notify section coordinator or Music Director if unable to attend. Performance attendance is at the discretion of the Director if a member misses more than 2 rehearsals preceding a concert.
3. Be familiar with and understand the Bylaws of the MCCB and agree to abide by these Bylaws and any rules and regulations approved by the Board.
4. Be responsible for and give proper care to the music, instruments and other property of the band and be liable for the same if damage is caused by improper use or neglect.
5. Provide own instrument and supplies for the instrument, when applicable.
6. Be properly attired for each concert. As designated by the Director.
